New data from Eurostat shows a declining trend in asylum seekers from Armenia in the European Union. At the end of May 184 citizens from Armenia had pending asylum applications in the European Union, compared to for example June 2017 when 435 applied for asylum.
On average the European Union has seen 514 asylum applications from Armenia per month since 2008.
Among the countries in the European Union Germany received the most asylum applications from Armenia, 124 in May, while Bulgaria, Cyprus, Finland, Hungary, Iceland, Norway, Romania, and Slovenia received fewest (0 applications).
