In October the confidence of industrial businesses in Malta decreased significantly compared to the same month last year, down from 5.6 to -8.8.
In the same time, EU countries industrial businesses confidence have decreased considerably, down from 8.1 to 3 on average. This is the lowest recorded level since March 2017.
Malta now displays the lowest confidence of industrial businesses in all of EU, while Sweden has the highest confidence (14.9 points).

This indicator is based on businesses surveyed on production, employment expectations, order-book levels, stocks of finished products and selling price.
For all surveys the difference between positive and negative answers (in percentage points of total answers) are averaged to calculate an indicator.
